GOOD MANNERS BRING HAPPINESS

There are three important aspects behind all good manners:
·         CUSTOM
·         CONSIDERATION
·         COMMON SENSE
Custom is the way of doing certain things like saying “Namaste” or touching feet with respect. Consideration is the most important idea behind all good manners. By being considerate, you appreciate other’s feelings. Besides, all good manners have in them elements of common sense too. for example, pushing your way through a crowd, for an out of turn favor, is definitely bad manners.
Children’s rivalry is there in almost all families. it could be tackled only through good manners. And in order to instill good manners among our children, we must we must lead by example. Here are a few tips:
·         Be appreciative of individual’s abilities and strengths. Do not discuss the weakness of a family member with outsiders.
·         All family discussions should be participative with mutual appreciation and respect.
·         Out of three principal meals of a day, all should eat together at least twice, preferably, switching off the TV and helping each other in serving.
·         Mutual tolerance is very important in family life. Learn to adjust with others. For example, do not make an issue over the TV channel preference.
·         Respect other’s privacy. For example, do not read other’s letters and diaries. Do not open a closed door without knocking and seeking permission to enter.
·         Be polite with callers, while taking telephone calls meant for others. In case of absence of the family member, write down caller’s name, phone number, time of call and message.
·         Keep each other informed about movement, particularly when one is delayed.
