Social service and its value for students

Man is a social animal; he cannot live alone. Society does its best to provide individual with all comforts and amenities of life. The individuals have also an obligation towards the society. Students, in a particular owe a debt to the society. So it is their duty to do social service for others.

Students have unlimited vigor and vitality. They have no worries about the earning their livelihood. So they can be of great help in the field of social service.

Almost eighty percent of our population lives in the villages. Most of the people in the villages are illiterate. They suffer from many social evils. Students can do a great deal to improve the lot of the villagers. They can serve in the villages during vacation.

Students can do certain things for the defense of their country. They can get training in first aid, fire fighting, air raid precautions, use of rifle and nursing etc.
It is seen that modern students dislike social service. They lead a dull, cheerless and irresponsible life. They idle away most of their time in going to clubs and cinema. This is very deplorabl
